We bought this flat six years ago and are very happy here - we are only moving due to family commitments. It was the views and sunsets that made it really stand out, westerly facing over the city, we get the sun all afternoon and evening, which is best enjoyed from our double balcony. The flat is light and airy and offers three double bedrooms - we currently have one setup as an office with a sofa bed. We have an amazing concierge called Luca, he will take care of many aspects of the flat, taking deliveries, supervising works if you are out (plumbing, cleaners, electrical works etc), he really is a life saver. He also keeps a keen eye on the security and condition of communal areas.
There is a secure basement bike store under the building with plenty of room for any pushbikes you may have.
We are 15mins walk into Canary Wharf, which has an extensive range of shops, bars, cinemas, restaurants and choice of gyms (The Third Space is the biggest gym in Europe), as well as lots of transport links (Jubilee line and DLR) in and out of town. It also has the Thames Clipper boat service, these run regularly to popular destinations through the city and runs as far as Putney to the West and Woolwich to the East. It is a very nice way to get around, the boats have open back decks, fully stocked bars / coffee shops on board and you always get a seat! Other nearby transport links are the Central, District, Hammersmith and City line from Mile End (10mins away) and also the C2C rail services from Limehouse (10mins away) and the Ginger line from Shadwell is also a 15 min walk away. On our road there are buses to Islington, Mile End and Canary Wharf.
We are 20mins walk or 5mins on the bus from Victoria Park and Victoria Park village one of Londons largest green spaces which regularly holds music and art and festivals, plus a weekly food market. It is also surrounded by some fantastic pubs (The Crown, Empress, People Park Tavern). Our flat is alongside the canal which you can walk alongside to the Olympic Park and Westfield shopping centre (takes about 30 mins), There are many sporting facilities here which are subsidised; the Olympic pool is fantastic.
If travelling abroad, you can be sat having a coffee airside at City Airport in less than 40mins, it's fantastic for a low stress getaway and because it is mainly business travellers the airport is much quieter. The airport has routes to lots of European destinations Ibiza, Majorca, Amsterdam, Paris etc. Take the DLR at Westferry, which is 5mins walk from the flat.
Cross Rail will soon open and this allows easy travel from east to west, with Heathrow T4 in less than 50mins. This is widely reported to have a very positive impact on property prices when it opens and we are located a 10mins walk away from the Canary Wharf branch.
While the flat has no parking allocated, we rent a space for a nominal monthly amount, the space is in a secure gated development and is less than three minutes away (we would be happy to hand this over to our buyer). For loading and unloading you can park right outside the front of the building or alternatively Luca the concierge will let you into the communal area.
